SELECT *

As well as SELECTing specific columns, you can SELECT every column using SELECT *:

SELECT * FROM cars

SELECT * is useful for finding out what columns are in a table, but it's usually better to specify which columns you want. This gives you full control over the data you get back, and your application doesn't have to do unnecessary work.
